 Agency has become operational on 10 December 2009  The Agency is established pursuant to the PDP Law  Agency bodies are: the Council and the Director Council has three members (a Chairman and 2 members ) Members of the Council of the Agency are appointed by the Parliament of Montenegro for the term of 5 years. The Director is appointed by the Council for the period of 4 years.

 Perform supervision over the implementation of personal data protection in accordance;  Decide on requests for the protection of rights;  Deliver opinions regarding the application;  Give consent with regards to the establishment of personal data filing systems;  Deliver its opinion in the case of doubt whether a set of personal data is considered a filing system within the meaning of Law, etc.

 The Twining Project “Implementation of the Personal Data Protection Strategy in Montenegro”  Implementation period - 15 months  Components of the Project: Harmonising the legislation and providing training on personal data protection

 The Agency has delivered three work reports to the Parliament  In Montenegro, state in the field of personal data protection is not on a satisfactory level.  In 2011, the supervision focus was also placed on video surveillance  Supervision of mobile operators and Police Directorate  Direct marketing

 462 personal data filing systems delivered  35 opinions issued on the Law implementation  59 scheduled supervisions carried out according to the Work Plan  11 unscheduled supervisions carried out according to the request for the protection of rights and initiative  13 approvals for filing system establishment  5 recommendations and proposals for improvements of personal data protection  4 Memorandums on cooperation concluded with other agencies for personal data protection
