DO NOW: Jack and his mother live in comfort, Journal 13 DO NOW: Draw the elements of plot diagram. Place the following major story events in their appropriate spot on the plot diagram. Jack and his mother live in comfort, thanks to the golden eggs. Jack’s mother sends him to town to trade their cow for food. Jack climbs the beanstalk and discovers a giant’s lair above the clouds. Jack and his widowed mother live in poverty. Jack chops down the beanstalk causing the giant to fall to his death. Jack trades the cow for “magic” beans. Jack steals the giant’s goose, which lays golden eggs, and flees. Jack plants the beans and an enormous beanstalk grows.
