Presentation transcript:

________________________________________________________________ Bottom feeder Intake ( BFI) 2 phase gas flow separator for horizontal wells is a great alternative to open ended tubing or traditional gas separators where two phase gas flow is present. Typically these separators are used on the bottom of Beam or Sucker Rod pumps and PC systems landed at a deviation greater than 71 degrees. Intake Discharge: The BFI discharges the gas free fluid to the inlet of the pump through the weight bar assembly and brass wear bushing. Outer Housing: Flow enters outer housing from all directions Orientation of outer housing has no bearing on the internal rotation of the intake Bottom of tool is blunt ended and no flow is allowed to enter from this point

________________________________________________________________ Weight Bar Brass wear bushing: A brass wear bushing is attached to the discharge end of the separator This provides the intake assembly a center point The intake assembly is held in place with a snap ring ensuring it is not held tight to allow rotation Center Pin Weight Bar: The weight bar is the mechanism to ensure the orientation of the drop bar is always in the proper location to draw fluid and not gas. The weight bar is a solid piece of bar halved to provide ballast to the bottom. The center pin is positioned of the end of the weight bar and is inserted into the outer housing and is free to rotate with little to no resistance Intake inlet: Intake inlet is found on the internal drop bar Drop bar inlet is on the bottom of the assembly so we draw from the fluid phase in the 2 phase flow regime

________________________________________________________________ Configurations: Unit is ran on the bottom of pumping system trying to minimize the distance between the outlet of the separator and the inlet of the pump. No turn tools and anchors can be ran on the bottom of the tools as long as they provide sufficient flow through across the tool to not restrict inlet flow.
