J. Edgar Hoover 1 st Director of FBI

Impact of Forensic Science He is known for being the first director of the FBI. While there he created the first fingerprint depository. He was a pioneer in the forensic science and opened many crime labs analyzing evidence. He also had specialized equipment made such as the first ultra-violet microscope.

Cases One of Hoovers more famous cases was the Lindbergh kidnapping. He had letters analyzed and the entire crime scene swept for evidence. This case was one of the first to track money and use the forensics on the money to make an arrest of the killer.
