Improving Performance The aim of any serious performer is to improve performance. Why? To achieve a goal or target that has been set either by yourself or by a teacher or coach, e.g. Learning a new skill; improving a skill or technique to be more effective in an activity. How? In order to develop your performance effectively you must: Consider the demands/requirements of your activity Form a clear impression of your current levels of skill and fitness. Identify your strengths and development needs in the activity. What for? To make training specific and appropriate for your levels of skill & fitness.
