The Story

The story of Daniel in the den of lions gives us an example of a display of extraordinary faith. Daniel was set up by his work mates who could find no wrong in the way he dispensed his work. The Bible says that Daniel had an excellent spirit (Dan. 6:3). The only way they could trap him was in the matter of his faith and trust in the God of Israel.

They conspired together and were able to convince Darius the king to write a decree that no one would be worshipped during a span of thirty days except him. This plan worked and Daniel was found guilty for he did not stop worshipping God as was his custom from childhood. The penalty was for him to be cast into the den of hungry lions. How was he to escape? The decree could not be changed.

The king was so worried and helpless. He had been tricked by his own men to go against Daniel. Yet Daniel walked majestically into the den of ferocious lions. What saved him? The writer of Hebrews gives us the clue. “Daniel through faith… stopped the mouths of lions (Heb. 11:33). When the king asked Daniel what had happened, he replied, “My God sent His angel and shut the lions mouth so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him” (Dan. 6:22).

Daniel exercised extraordinary faith and God responded by sending His delivering angel into the lions’ den and shut their mouths, they became pussy cats. This extraordinary faith is yours because the Lord Jesus who you trust is the author and perfecter of this faith.

The Word.

Heb. 11:1Faith is the assurance of things hoped for; being convinced of things not seen. Heb. 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to please God; For whoever would draw near to God must believe that He is and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Eph. 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God.

Matt. 17:20 If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there’, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. Heb. 12:2 Look to Jesus the Author and Perfector of your faith. Heb. 10:38The just shall live by faith

The Declarations

We decree and declare that the extraordinary faith that we exercise finds its origin in the Word of God – Ro. 10:17; Heb 1:3 We decree and declare that the mountains of our lives are being relocated in the name of Jesus Christ. We speak to these mountains with deep conviction that they will move in the name of Jesus – Mt. 17:20; Mk 11:22-23 We decree and declare that faith is the hand that possesses all that God has possessed for us. We possess salvation by faith. We possess victory, prosperity, healing, revival, strength, wisdom, guidance, peace and all that the kingdom of God offers by faith in Jesus’ name— Heb 4:14-16

We decree and declare that faith is the shield that we lift up against the attacks of the devil. Our faith quenches every flaming arrow of the devil that is aimed at us. We declare that no weapon fashioned against us will prosper in the name of Jesus – Eph. 6:17; Isa 54:17 We decree and declare that God is faithful. We shall trust in Him no matter what happens. Our faith in Him will cause us to be securely founded in Him, He is pleased when we walk in faith like Enoch did – Heb. 11:5-6; I Thes 5:24

The Reflection

Take time to study the word of God. Faith is a product of hearing the word of God. If you have never received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, this is the best time to do it. Believe that God raised Jesus from the dead after triumphing over sin. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. You shall be saved. Faith is a process of trusting in God. Grow in faith by speaking and declaring the word of God daily.

Never give up or lose hope. Faith holds on even when everything seems contrary to what God has promised in His Word. This is your season to see the extraordinary faith of God work in your life. You have the release button. Do your part and God will do the rest.

The Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank you for this dimension of extraordinary faith. You have said that the just shall live by faith. We purpose to live by this faith and in this divine dimension. We possess all that is ours in Christ Jesus.
