Vernal Equinox Float 8 Karla

The day it happens March 21 in the northern hemisphere is when night and day are nearly the same length. The Sun crosses the celestial equator moving northward. In the southern hemisphere, it is a vernal equinox when the Sun crosses the celestial equator moving southward. This occurs on the date of the northern autumnal equinox. Equinox literally means "equal night.

First Day The vernal equinox marks the first day of the season of spring.

Constellation Vernal equinox originally was in the constellation Aries and the point of crossing was known as the first point in Aries now actually in Pisces. Vernal equinox originally was in the constellation Aries and the point of crossing was known as the first point in Aries now actually in Pisces.

Celebrate Vernal Equinox In March in the northern hemisphere, cultural events and customs start. In the northern hemisphere it is also known as the spring equinox. The fall equinox is in the southern hemisphere.
