72V - Recoil, Recoil IS, & Instinct New Vehicle Delivery Tips The new Bad Boy Buggies Recoil, Recoil IS, and Instinct vehicles have been designed to provide unsurpassed performance in the electric hunting vehicle industry. In order to enhance the customer demonstration process; make sure the Recoil IS has been fully charged upon receipt of the vehicle. The charger should be allowed to run a full cycle by utilizing the automatic turn off feature. Repeat this procedure every 30 days to ensure your customers have a full state of charge at the time of delivery. Another new feature is the addition of the Run – Storage / Maintenance switch. This switch is used to disconnect the electronic speed controller(s) from the battery set. It is advisable to flip the switch to the Storage / Maintenance position for periods of storage over two weeks or any time electrical maintenance is performed on the Buggy. Bad Boy Buggies has provided you with step by step instructions to help you train your customers on charging and the use of the Run – Storage / Maintenance switch. Date: 10-3-2012

Proper Charging The battery charger used in current Bad Boy Buggy- 72 Volt applications is the Diversified Power International (DPI). Follow the directions listed on the next page to safely charge the Buggy. Page 38

Proper Charging Note: The Buggy should be recharged at approximately 50% depth of discharge to ensure long battery life. Warning: Disconnect the charger plug prior to operating the Buggy. 1. Place the charger in a well ventilated area. Plug the AC cord into a GFI 120V outlet. The power on and detection light will illuminate. 2. Fully connect and seat the DC plug to the receptacle. Periodically inspect the charger plug and receptacle for damage or debris. 3/25/2017 Page 39

Proper Charging 3. To ensure the charger is operating properly, check for amp meter operation and the indicator lights on the front of the charger. Under normal charge circumstances, the L.E.D.s operate as follows:  Power On (Red) Illuminates continuously when AC power is present. Refer to the section ‘TROUBLESHOOTING’ if Flashing.  Abnormal Shutdown (Red) Normally not illuminated. Refer to ‘TROUBLESHOOTING’ if Flashing.  Detection Error (Red) If connected to A.C. Power, but not connected to a battery pack, or battery pack is discharged to near 0V, L.E.D. will illuminate to indicate the charger cannot ‘see’ a battery connected. Refer to ‘TROUBLESHOOTING’ if Flashing.  Charging (Yellow) Charge Status Indicator – it flashes or illuminates during the 5-Stage Charge Process.  Charged (Green) Illuminates continuously during the 4th Stage of the Charge Process. . 3/25/2017 Page 40

Proper Charging - Hardware Inspection This is an example of an over loaded AC outlet. Inspect the AC plug for damage or bent prongs. Do not remove the auxiliary ground prong. The charger should be plugged into it’s own dedicated 20A circuit. Do not over load receptacles! Inspect the charge receptacle and charger DC handle for damage periodically. 20 AMP Circuit 3/25/2017 Page 41

Run – Storage / Maintenance Switch 1. Lift and remove the seat to expose the battery cover. The Run – Storage / Maintenance switch is located on the passenger side under the battery cover. 2. Lift and separate the battery cover from the seat wrap. This is accomplished by pulling up lightly at the fasteners. 3. Flip the switch to the Storage / Maintenance position for storage time of 2 weeks or greater. 4. When replacing the battery cover, make sure it is positioned below the seat support as shown.
