What’s the difference between MBD Search Engine and other SEs?

What’s the difference MBD SE is the professional search engine intended to retrieve information from large personal and corporative e-libraries and document archives. Therefore MBD SE differs from the other search engines intended to search for personal documents and s.

Working process Working process of most SE consists of: Creating index Searching in index Found results output Loading found document

Index creation MBD SE High CPU usage Up to 4 Gb/Hour Creating compressed text database Only general text & graphic formats are supported Typical personal SE Low CPU usage Low speed (in background) Creating index only Many different document formats are supported

Search in index MBD SE Fast search (0.1 sec in 10 Gb) Morphological search Search with limited distance between words – high relevance Search for text pages: “Found 1456 pages in 234 documents” Typical personal SE Search is not so fast (not needed) Morphology search often is not present Search for separate words – low relevance. Search for documents: “Found 234 documents”

Search in index MBD SE Search with limited distance between words. Distance is set by slider. Example: Find “coverage quality” - “Found 23 documents”: Typical personal SE Search with any distance. Example: Find “coverage quality” - “Found 245 documents”: … and somewhere

Found results output MBD SE You obtain both found documents list and found text pages immediately: Typical personal SE You obtain list of found documents only:

Found results output MBD SE You can navigate through the found pages and read information immediately Typical personal SE You have to load document preview or even source document first

Loading found document This function is the same both for MBD SE and for the other Search Engines. Difference is using MBD SE you are doing this much less times than using another SE.

Summary If you have a large volume of documents and want to build personal or corporative information retrieval system: use MBD Search Engine
