The Entomologist Has Spoken The entomologist, or person who studies insects, has told our class to see who can figure out what exactly an insect is. It is up to you and your table to decide how you will figure out what the different parts of an insect are and their life cycle.

is to create your own insect with the correct parts! Your Mission... is to create your own insect with the correct parts! You have one week to do it!

but wait! There's more... This contest called The Great Insect Creation is also taking place in two other classes throughout the school. May the best insect win!

Step 1: As we learn about insects, we will read books, so take careful notes in your memory to figure out what the most creative parts of an insect may be.

Step 2 Share your thoughts from the books with your group Discuss what may be the best parts to create the coolest looking insect Determine your group plan

Step 3 Each day think about what we have learned about that day. Practice drawing insects to figure out which one your table would like the best for Friday. Record the results on a sheet of paper. Each day you may compare ideas with another group. Describe the differences and similarities between the insects. Hypothesize why they are different or similar.
