Where can I go for help with academics? Talk to your faculty and/or TA Check out the UTLC in Jester Check out the Academic Community Center programs in Jester and Kinsolving Find friends and classmates to study with Be sure to talk with your RA for guidance and more resources!

I want to get involved! Make sure you manage your time well…it’s easy to get over involved! Commit yourself in quality not quantity. Check out all the campus organizations by going to the S.A.L.D. Office’s web page If you like to play sports for fun or just like to exercise look into Intramural Sports and the Rec Center and Gregory Gym!

Drinkin’, Druggin’ & Smokin’ Brush up on your laws, know your rights and know what you will be held accountable for, if you need assistance and direction go to Legal Services for Students at Find out the real facts for yourself, a family member or friend: on/adep.html

Did you know… A drug citation/criminal record can affect your Federal Aid Serving alcohol to a minor(s) will cost you your driver’s license, money and possible jail time Drinkin’ and Druggin’ does affect your memory UT does have help for people facing issues with dependency and abuse UT does have a recovery group program

Are the halls safe? They are as safe as you allow them to be… – Lock your door at all times (including when you are just hanging out in your room) – Do not let someone you don’t know onto your floor or in the building – Keep your key and ID with you at all times and do not lend it to anyone – Report all suspicious people to a Residence Life staff member right away

Ring! Alarm Buzz! What’s going on, on- campus? If you have a prank caller, hang up then pick up the phone and immediately dial *57, following that call UTPD at and tell them what happened! If there’s a fire alarm going off and you can hear it…leave the building! Subscribe to the Campus Watch to keep up on any thefts, safety tips etc. l this website has a lot of very useful information! l

Is there someone out there? The are numerous Front Desks around campus that are staffed to help you out anytime: – Carothers Hall (serving Andrews, Blanton, Carothers and Littlefield) – Jester East – Jester West – Kinsolving Hall (serving Kinsolving and Whitis Court) – Moore-Hill Hall (serving Moore-Hill & Simkins) – Prather Hall (serving Brackenridge, Roberts & Prather) – San Jacinto Hall

The Red Zone What is it? For 1 st year college women, the Red Zone of danger is the period of time between move- in day and the first holiday break. Again and again, women are raped during these weeks by men they meet on campus. (from I Never Called it Rape, by Robin Warshaw) For help contact: UTPD , your RA and Voices Against Violence or the Counseling and Mental Health Center 24 hours a day at 1-CALL.
