By Maddy Thatch Personal Statement: Why I Want to Teach

INTASC Standard, Description and Rationale Standard #6 Assessment The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessments to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making. Rationale This assignment shows where I want to go and what I have learned about education.

Reasons for Wanting to Teach To create “lovers of learning” I enjoy kids. I want to make a positive change and difference in the future.

Effective Teacher Traits Patient, Nice, Caring, Straight forward, and clear Young children answer to consistency well and so do adults.

Student Characteristics I want to teach students that want to learn. Open minds and open hearts Conscious of others and their differences

Community Characteristics I want my community to be supportive of the school. Parents involved and helping

Contributions to the Professions I want to be a teacher that tries. I don’t want to give up on my students. I want to make a difference.
