Rio Beaches: The world’s most famous strip of sand, Copacabana beach is nicknamed by the locals “Little Princess of the Sea”. Ipanema beach is located in the neighborhood of the same name, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. In the winter the surf can reach 9 feet. Barra da Tijuca Beach, sweeping some eighteen kilometers south of the city, this magnificent beach is the longest in Rio. Clear waters and perfect waves make this beach a favorite with surfers, boogie-boarders, windsurfers and surf-casters.

Fun Facts: 1. Tourism is also a large industry in Rio de Janeiro. The city is Brazil's main tourist attraction and it also receives more international visits per year than any other city in South America with around 2.82 million. 2.Rio de Janeiro natives are called Cariocas (care-ree-o-cas). 3.Rio will be hosting the 2016 Olympic Games and the last match of the 2014 World-Cup. 4. Rio has over 46 miles (74km) of bicycle pathways, most stretching alongside the beaches. 5.Rio de Janeiro’s is nicknamed Cidade Maravilhosa (The Marvelous City).

If you are looking to spend a day on the beach, lazing in the sun, or snorkeling in the shallow water, then Rio offers many top spots. 3.One of the best places to visit on one of the Rio de Janeiro tours is the Tijuca National Park. Located in Rio de Janeiro, this urban forest is the largest in the world, covering 32 square kilometers. 4. You can also Grab a map and follow the other tourist up to the Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) statue, which is the second largest statue of Jesus in the world. This iconic statue watches over the marvelous city of Rio de Janeiro.

Samba has a very specific rhythm, highlighted to its best by characteristic Brazilian musical instruments: originally called tamborim, chocalho, reco-re. 3.To achieve the true character of the samba, a dancer must give it a happy, flirtatious and exuberant interpretation

Food Brazilian food is rich and diverse, mixing Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German, African, and Amerindian influences. Brazil’s climate is mostly tropical and the terrain and climate favor the production of coffee, a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and cattle. Because of its diverse heritage, Brazilian recipes are amazing and flavored with fiery spices and tropical ingredients. Traditional Brazilian food uses the land’s native ingredients of beans, rice and manioc flour.
