Freshman Advisory All You Need to Know about the Wonderful World of 9 th Grade Tuesday August 26 th, 2008

What Is Freshman Advisory?  Freshman Advisory is a 25 minute support class for all freshmen to learn the skills that they will need to know to be successful their freshmen year, as well as the rest of high school. Did You Know: On average, less than half of the current freshmen do not graduate from high school.

Why Are You Here? Freshman Advisory consists of the following: o Knowing the school environment o Gaining Interpersonal Skills o Achieving Academic Success o Meeting Requirements o Learning Organizational Skills o Becoming Personally Reflective o Acquiring Time Management Abilities o Using effective study habits and skills

Weekly Routine  No 8 th period on Mondays  Tuesdays and Thursdays will consist of advisory activities and tutorials.  Wednesdays Link Crew leaders will have group activities.  Fridays will be Grade Check reflections and life skills.
