The Sun and Its Effects on Green Plants. By Ryan Saunders By Ryan Saunders 8 th Grader

Question?? What are the effects that the sun has on plants. What are the effects that the sun has on plants.

Hypothesis A plant won't survive without sun no matter if a plant has the same amout of dirt and gets the same amout of water as any other plants.

Collecting information I used two flower pots for two different plants to test my theories. I used dirt, and a measuring cup to make sure i poured the exact amount of water in both flower pots. I used two flower pots for two different plants to test my theories. I used dirt, and a measuring cup to make sure i poured the exact amount of water in both flower pots. DaysPlant with sunPlant without sun 12/23/08Starting to grow. Also starting to grow. 12/24/08Is making more progress and is showing signs of green leaves. This plant is growing but not much. 12/25/08Progressed more because of the sun and water Started to show signs of brownness and begins to fall. 12/26/08Still growing. Is still attached and appears to be getting smaller. 12/27/08Plant is still growing and getting stronger. It died and all brown 12/28/08Plant is alive and well. The plant is partly detached.

Conclusion The plant didn't survive without the sunlight no matter how much dirt it had or the amount of water it got. While the other plant with the sunlight is still alive and growing. No plant can thrive in the complete absence of light. Light allows plants to live and produce oxygen.
