Presentation transcript:

What is it? Everyone has an opinion about it… You encounter it every day… It is the most practiced creative exercise in the world... Yet is the least understood creative enterprise on Earth… It is complex and difficult to understand all of its various techniques…

Time to make a list… I want you to take a moment and think of three things that you know to be true. It can be anything…let your mind go. One rule: Don’t think too hard!

My list… 1)In this classroom right now I am teaching the most intelligent collection of students I have ever taught. 2)I could never have a job where I sat at a desk all day. 3)Lil’ orphan Annie was right: The sun always comes up tomorrow.

Spoken Word Poetry “ I use spoken word to help my students rediscover wonder, to fight their instincts to be cool and unphased and instead be actively engaged in what goes on around them.” ~ Sarah Kay
