By Lt. Cmdr. John Woods & Colton Oceanography

What inspired Lieut. Cmdr. Woods career? Lieut. Cmdr. Woods career was stared in New Jersey. He grew up near the ocean and was always fascinated by the waves, currents, wind, etc.

Lt. Commander Woods studies the ocean as in oceanographer in the US Navy. He graduated of the class of It took him 10 quarters or 2.5 years to get his degree in oceanography. The Ocean Activity

How does the John get his information? Monitor John gets information form a buoy that is in the Beaufort Sea. This is a graph of the battery voltage that the buoy gets. It is solar powered, the dips in the graph is when it is night and the peaks are when it is day time. This link is to the graph where I got it. It has more graphs that you can see.

The climate of the ocean The state of the ocean is that it is getting higher. The ice caps are the reason that it is getting higher. The climate in Beaufort Sea is changing. It is located in the Alaska and Canada.

The effects of Sandy. In New Jersey a county of Mantoloking was devastated by the Sandy. By the main bridge that was form the main land to this community was destroyed by Sandy. This is a web site that you can go to get more information about the devastation that Sandy did.

Why does Sandy concern Lt. Cmdr. Woods? Lt. Cmdr. Woods studies the ocean. The current of the ocean is his specialty. Sandy hit his home town. His base was hit, too. Since the to the Lt. Cmdr. woods studies the ocean then Hurricane Sandy would his business.
