Introduction The Ancient Egyptians were the first to tame cats to protect their corn supplies. There are now over 100 million cats in the World and over 100 different breeds. In the UK and USA there are more cats kept as pets than dogs and 35% of households with cats have two or more.

What They Eat Meat is their favourite food. They have sharp teeth to eat with.

Where They Live Some of the bigger cats live in the wild for example lions, tigers, cheetah and panther. Smaller domestic cats live in houses for example tabby and Siamese cat.
