Template V.24, 1-Mar-2007 Creating Value with the Infor MES & QM Jay Melville Sr. Manufacturing Consultant Mike LeRoy Business Unit Manager, May 30, 2007

Template V.24, 1-Mar The Infor MES Suite

Template V.24, 1-Mar The Infor MES Suite The Infor MES Suite currently consists of three modules:  Production Operations  Manufacturing Data Collection and Communications (MDCC)  Lean Execution and Planning (LEAP)  Quality Assurance Operations  Quality Management (QM)  Maintenance Operations *  Inventory Operations * * Available with XA, but not included in the MES Suite

QM (Quality Management) 4

Template V.24, 1-Mar Introducing QM Quality Management includes:  Establishment of electronic control plans  Test entry  Problem notifications  Charting/Graphing  Non-conformance reporting  Integration with MDCC and LEAP  And more….

Some QM highlights… 6

Template V.24, 1-Mar This is the QM Main Menu… QM Highlights

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens From the Main Menu you can perform all the setup functions

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens You start by defining test equipment, defect codes, trends, units-of-measure, etc…

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) …then you create a Control Plan. Control plans can be location, revision level, and effective date controlled. We also include a complete maintenance history to help you track all the changes made to your control plans.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) Control Plans can be associated with a single item or with a family of items. You can add tester notes, attachments, and enable “electronic signatures” that will require the tester to enter their badge and password prior to entering test results.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) You define the type of test you want to perform: -A-Attribute -V-Variable Attribute Entry enables test results to be entered using simple buttons with text. You define the appropriate defect codes, how and what to test, and what to do when you have a problem or non-conforming part.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) Variable Entry gives you the ability to input numeric test results. You define what unit of measure to use, target values, upper and lower control and specification limits, and even the number of decimals you allow the tester to enter.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) To further assist the tester during test entry, you can add attachments, “rich text” (images and text), even videos, etc.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) Here you can define the Sample Size and Timing using fixed sample sizes or AQL sampling plans. You can “link” the test to a specific operation, work center, purchase order or vendor. Sample sizes and frequencies can be overridden at the vendor level for purchased parts.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Sample Setup Screens (Control Plans) And finally, you can create Alarms that enable you to specify trend conditions to monitor for, and the response the system should take when an alarm is triggered. Responses can include tester notification, creating a non conforming material report, and even the ability to send an to notify appropriate personnel.

QM in action… 17

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – In action QM is fully integrated with MDCC. Test “notification” and entry is automatically displayed when performing a Job-On transaction and/or when reporting production activity at Job Off.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – In action You can also test inbound materials from your suppliers during the receiving process.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry Test entry begins by providing the tester with a summary of all the critical quality information required for test entry including what needs to tested, how to test it, sampling sizes, etc.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry The Control Plan manages when and how to enter test data for multiple items. You can use two entry methods: - page (enter multiple tests for the same item) - s- sequential (the same test for multiple items)

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry As each test is presented, you can require entry/identification of the test equipment used, serial numbers, electronic signatures, etc.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry The tester then enters the test results and any pertinent observations about the test.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry If a problem or non-conforming part is identified, you can enter one or more defect codes…

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry …and automatically create a non- conforming material report, or send an notification that you have a problem on the floor.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Test entry This is an example of the automatic notification. You define what information you want to send and who it goes to!

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – Non-Conformance reporting and management You can manage and update non-conformance reports.

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – viewing test results and trends View and graph test results and trends…

Template V.24, 1-Mar Paper-Less QM – viewing the Test Log …or use the QM Log sheet to search and view tests, trends, and even perform a re-test.

Template V.24, 1-Mar In summary… 30

Template V.24, 1-Mar In summary The Infor MES “Suite” and QM provide an unprecedented set of tools to support your manufacturing operations today and tomorrow including:  Real-time access to quality requirements & activities  Quality Management and Six Sigma fully integrated with production reporting and inventory management. … and it’s all fully integrated with XA!
