Location: Austin, Pflugerville, Texas Ideal or desired resident: An addict who has completed a recognized treatment program and can pay for rent and food. Size of house/layout: 6 people to a residence –two to each room Fee structure: $ per week plus pay for food Philosophy: Addicts must “learn” to stay clean and sober. We work with our residents to engage in valuable learning environments that promote positive social rehabilitation. Not a “bunk house” but a family of addicts working in transformational recovery experiences Transitional Living Profile Structure: Each home has a resident mentor who works closely with residents. Our director is a trained program coordinator and curriculum designer for transitional facilities who has researched the challenges of developing transitional living environments. Our Administrative Director and Director of Residential Services is a respected member of community organizations involved in community action for recovery from addiction. He has spoken on the subject of staying clean and sober and works very closely with all residents in the Austin-Pflugerville area. Programs/Activities: Various cultural, educational, and learning activities, as well as recovery programs, are promoted as social rehabilitation resources. Family activities are encouraged and arranged at the residence. Weekly meetings and group sessions are planned in advance. Technology is a central part of communication with the community support resources.
