K - 2 and 3 – 5 Science Question of the Week Can you correctly label each life cycle as complete metamorphosis or incomplete metamorphosis? Grasshopper? 2. Butterfly? 3. Ladybug? K - 2 and 3 – 5 Science Question of the Week

Complete metamorphosis is a term applied to insects to describe four life stages – as an embryo or egg, a larva, a pupa, and an adult stage.

Incomplete metamorphosis is the development of certain insects that includes 3 stages: the egg, nymph, and the adult stage. There is no pupa stage. The nymph often somewhat resembles the adult stage with similar body parts.

3-5 Science Question of the Week

3-5 Science Question of the Week Challenge: What is the difference between complete metamorphosis and incomplete metamorphosis? Incomplete metamorphosis has the nymph stage that has similar body parts to adults but no larval or pupal stages.
