Protect security and integrity of supply chain When we take care of the business behind healthcare, providers can focus on their patients . More than ever, pharmacists serve as trusted healthcare advisors. Cardinal Health’s role is to ensure the safe, secure and efficient delivery of needed medications and consumer health products from more than 1400 manufacturers to 24,000 retail locations, more than 2,500 hospital pharmacies, plus many other sites, so providers can fill prescriptions for the patients who need them. Thanks to support from Cardinal Health, retail pharmacies also offer their communities unique services ranging from diabetes care to immunizations. And hospital pharmacies have tools to improve efficiency and medication-administration safety. We believe that working in healthcare is a privilege, but it is also a responsibility – one that we take very seriously. Cardinal Health is committed to helping protect the security and integrity of the pharmaceutical supply chain. We have a robust program at all our distribution centers to prevent controlled medicines from being diverted into the hands of those who abuse them while ensuring the safe, secure and uninterrupted supply for the legitimate medical needs of patients who require them. Our people make a difference and employees are thoroughly trained in our Wholesaler Safe Practices Program, and other practices consistent with guidelines established by the Healthcare Distribution Management Association or HDMA. Public safety is our highest priority and we work hard to ensure it is deeply embedded in our culture. Best-in-class systems: Cardinal Health Suspicious Order Monitoring (for Controlled Substances); Cardinal Health Know Your Customer Sales Force Training; Cardinal Health’s “Wholesaler Safe Practices” training; practices consistent with Healthcare Distribution Management Association Distributor Guidelines; Authorized Distributor of Record to pharmaceutical manufacturers
