Title I- Part A External Funding

What is Title I??? Provides opportunities for all children to acquire the knowledge and skills specified in challenging state content and performance standards. Supplements academic, health, and social services. Promotes school wide reform. Distributes resources to regions and campuses where needs are the greatest. Affords parents meaningful opportunities to participate in their children's education. Aligns the schools' instructional efforts with those of the state and school district.

BURBANK MIDDLE SCHOOL IS A SCHOOL-WIDE TITLE I SCHOOL 93% of student body is low-income Free breakfast for all students and free or reduced-pay lunch for those who qualify Money to pay for supplies Funds to pay for more teachers Summer school Funds for Tutorials Funds for classes for parents: Literacy, ESL, Computer Skills, GED, etc

HOW CAN WE CONTINUE TO BE A SCHOOL-WIDE TITLE I SCHOOL? Lunch Applications- Please fill them out completely and return to the school It doesn’t matter if you don’t qualify for lunch assistance, ALL applications count! If you need help filling out the form, please see me or Ms. Cabrales

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT PAC- Parental Advisory Committee All parents are welcome to be part of the committee The PAC meets 4 times a year, or more if needed The PAC provides essential input regarding Title I activities

PTO Parents and Teachers Organization: Provides input to teachers and administration regarding the school’s operations Participates in discussions regarding programs implemented at Burbank MS Helps teachers and administrators by volunteering and serving as chaperones Develops and funds projects to enrich Burbank MS students

Volunteers In Public Schools Sign-up is very easy! Once you are a VIPs, you are cleared to chaperone, tutor, and monitor students during school activities
