Background  Potential as tools for research and teaching  Design, selection, operation & analyses of sensor data  Cover a range of disciplines including:  Applied Physics,  Computer Science,  Environmental Science & Resource Management,  Mathematics

Procedures  Unmanned Systems Board (like the IRB)  Proposal submitted and approved by the Board  PIs must submit a flight and research plan  Monthly flight logs required  The Board will need to develop procedures to ensure the safe and appropriate operation of the sUAS units

 Data Storage and Use Partner Agencies Equipment Maintenance and Storage  Applied Physics  2 shakedown flights  Approved on-campus and non-CI rate with be established  Maintenance of sensors will reside with PIs

 Compliance with Applicable Regulations  COA (Certificate of Authorization from FAA)

Flight and Training Procedures  Meet FAA requirements  Airspace Consideration including outdoor/indoor flight  Aircraft Consideration (under 25 lbs., etc).  Pilot/Spotter Considerations  Trainer Considerations  Existing Operating Standards for Model Aircraft
