MS-Liitto in general  The Finnish MS Society looks after the interests of people with MS and rare progressive neurological diseases as well as their families.  There is no curing treatment for these diseases, but the quality of life of most of patients can be improved by medication, rehabilitation, exercise and peer support.  About 7,000 people in Finland suffer from the disease.

MS disease  Neurological disease with a variety of symptons  Cause not clear, but thought to be part DNA part virus/infection when young.  Symptoms include: Vision impairment, changes in sense of touch, tiredness, trouble in moving, trouble with memory, focus and thinking.  Also can include depression, hard to control bladder and ”nervous pain” which usually is very strong.

MS and PA  General good condition helps to prevent inflammation and maintain body balance, muscle strenght, ability to exercise and enhance mental well-being.  MS does not prevent PA but the activities have to be adapted due to the limitations.  Finding a proper hobby is a part of an open discussion with a special sports designer.  SLU Käypä hoito –treatment (general guidelines 30 minutes a day..)

MS-Liitto and PA  Special sports designer guides to a suitable hobby, personal assistant and place to exercise  These services are for people with MS disease and their relatives.  Services are provided mostly via phone and .  MS-Liitto cooperates with professionals, education centers and with other adapted and/or health organizations  Is part of Soveli
