Symposium on Regional Safety Oversight Organizations Points to highlight Does it necessary to revisit the role of SRVSOP in the context of the new strategies and programmes recently initiated by ICAO? Can the SRVSOP assisting its member States, or on behalf of them, implementing State Safety Programmes? Can the SRVSOP play a role in the implementation of the CMA? The role of SRVSOP in respect to ICAO’s RASG and the implementation of ICAO GASP Symposium on Regional Safety Oversight Organizations

Symposium on Regional Safety Oversight Organizations Mandate of SRVSOP SRVSOP was created after the signing of a MoU between LACAC and ICAO. Its objectives are: To recommend the necessary measures so that States may overcome the problems detected during the Universal safety oversight audit programme and ensure compliance with their safety oversight responsibilities as Contracting States. To increase the level of civil aviation safety within the region. To foster, in close co-ordination with ICAO, the harmonization and updating of safety regulations and procedures for civil aviation amongst its participating States.
