A Panther Paws Production Plan books at GES Plans should allow a sub to be able to follow your activities for the day without difficulty.

A Panther Paws Production Plans should include: The Unit or chapter (if it applies) Text, w/s, wb, oht (the materials needed) –W/s (worksheet) –Wb (workbook) –Oht (overhead transpency) –In other words identify the resource, material used) Page # or ID of the activity. Intro Chap. 3 w/notes on overhead and T directed discussion. Handout w/s – parts of a plant and give 15 min to complete. Collect Students are to read pg for HW. Pass out and go over cw from Monday.

A Panther Paws Production Plans should identify Homework (HW), any activity not identified will be assumed to be Class work (CW). Reviews When feedback was given or when you go over an assignment. (especially MSS) Assessments A pattern of scope and sequence. Review Unit 13 spelling test. 10 min buddy study, use flash cards, 15 min spelling Bee. Spelling test Unit 13. Swap papers and grade in class. ½ back for HW rewrite missed words 5 times. Intro unit 14 spelling, pg 42 in text. Students are to make flash cards. CW & finish for HW. Math, MSS wk-5 #5, OHT, 5 min to work, record correct students, 5 min. to explain on Bd. Intro double digit math, pg 31-32, do ex. A, prob 1-12, pg 33. Turn in. AR reading when done. MSS wk-5 #6, same process all week. Pass back cw pg. 33 and go over by having students do each problem on board. Assign handout “double digit midgits” for cw, complete as HW if needed.

A Panther Paws Production Plans should reflect and have written all major subject activities. If you are doing Writing, Science, Social Studies, Math, LA, Reading, handwriting, etc as a course of study….make sure it is in the plan. example – 2 hr reading block, nothing about Science is in the plans, but when I walk through science book is out, students are reading Chapter 8 in round robin format. Science should be cited during that block in the plans.

A Panther Paws Production Plans should have: A system to identify and correlate the SSS to your lessons and assessments. Show where you have taught and tested which standards. This “system” needs to be simple yet accomplishes the intention of the law. Can you show where a benchmark has been taught or tested when asked, within a reasonable amount of time? Every Teacher must be able to demonstrate this. One system can be documented, but all must be able to do it. My recommendation is to work backwards, go thru each benchmark as a checklist and cite the chapter and or activity that will cover this benchmark. When asked, you will see it was covered in unit 4 and unit 4 was taught on this date and tested on this date as documented in your plans….this is just one idea, you may develop a better system.

A Panther Paws Production Plans should Be completed for the week and available on Monday when the workday begins. Be available for review when walk-throughs are being done. Be used by the teacher as a guideline for that day’s instruction.

A Panther Paws Production Plans should be: Developed as a team and consistent among the grade levels. Individual members may be designated to develop specific parts of the plan, but the curriculum, activities and assessments are used and evaluated by all on the team. Each year, this “team approach” to planning will help us to fine tune and develop the most effective work for our students. Common planning is a time for sharing and developing ideas. The concept of “working on the work” is to find the most meaningful activities structured in such a way as to enhance the learning time. Remember, teaching is not just presenting information. It’s not what you teach, it’s what do they learn that is important! The correct questions, the most effective strategies and the best activities are the key! Four or Five heads working together will design the best product!

We are a great school with a great TEAM! It takes all of us to make a difference! The 4 Pantherteers
