Federal Coastal Zone Management Act (1972) to preserve, protect, develop, and where possible, to restore or enhance the resources of the nation's coastal zone for this, and succeeding generations to encourage and assist the state to effectively exercise its responsibilities in coastal management consideration of ecological, cultural, historic, and aesthetic values, in light of needs for economic development

Overview The KPBCMP provides local input and guidance to state and federal agencies involved in developing projects, issuing permits or managing land in the coastal district, or other activities affecting resources of the district.
