2 A. General setting up of DESD committees Three different interdependent levels: – National – Regional – International

3 National committee – Call on all stakeholders of society Institutions Local representatives Private sector NGOs & associations Faith-based organizations

4 Regional committee – Coordination on a regional level: readjustment/ evaluation of program – Has a triple role: coordination/ synergy/ emulation (enact)

International committee – Incorporates both bottom-up and top-down approaches – Small size (max 15 members) – Liaison with the UN and UNESCO
