Light Notes 3 THE EYE

Parts of the Eye

Parts of the Eye clear, protective layer of your eye Cornea Iris- Controls the amount of light that enters the eye Pupil- Lens- Retina- Optic Nerve- black middle part of the eye, it is actually a hole covered by the clear cornea. It looks black because it is an opening into the dark inside of the eye. a convex lens that refracts light to the back of the lining of your eyeball cells on the eyeball lining that picks up the image and sends out nerve signals nerve that signals travel from your eye to your brain on the optic nerve.

Nearsightedness __________________________________ can see things that are near but not far eyeball is too long

Farsightedness __________________________________ can see things that are far but not near eyeball is too short
