Slope intercept form of a line Y = mx+ b b is the y-intercept – point where it intersect the y – axis. m is the slope of the line. Rise over run.

Steps to follow Y=mx + b Find where the line intersects the y-axis, put that number in the b spot of the equation. Decide if the slope is positive or negative, put that in front of the x leaving room for a number. Draw a right triangle on the line. It must go thru an exact corner. This triangle will help identify the rise and the run of the line. Write the number for the slope in lowest terms.
