Welcome LCS New Teachers!

AGOSTA, Kimberly Fifth Grade Teacher – South Elementary Ms. Agosta received her BS from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio in June 2000. She was previously employed as a third grade teacher at Fairfield Christian Academy.

BARR, Brian Science – Thomas Ewing Mr. Barr received his BS from Ohio University, Lancaster, Ohio in November 2008. He did his student teaching at General Sherman Junior High School. Mr. Barr was a long-term sub teacher at Thomas Ewing during school year 2008-09.

BELL Amy 0.5 Science – General Sherman Ms. Bell received her BS from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in June 2008. She taught previously at Groveport Community School as a fourth grade teacher.

BETZ, Damian Second Grade Tarhe Mr. Betz attained his B.A. from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio in 2001 and his Early Childhood Certification, from Ashland University in May 2009 Mr. Betz has served as substitute teacher with LCS, along with doing his student teaching at Tarhe.

BIBBEY, Lyndsey Science – General Sherman Ms. Bibbey received her degree from the University of Toledo, Ohio in December 2004. Ms. Bibbey was previously employed by South-Western City Schools as a high school physical science teacher.

BULL, Cassandra Music - Ewing, LHS, & Elementary Schools Ms. Bull received her BA from Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio in May 2009. Ms. Bull did her student teaching at Hillsdale Middle and High Schools.

CHEVALIER, Sarah Physical Education – Lancaster High Ms. Chevalier received her BA from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio in June 2001 and her MA from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio in July 2006. Mrs. Chevalier is the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach.

CONN, Corey Social Studies – General Sherman Mr. Conn received his BA from Bluffton University, Bluffton, Ohio in May 2009. He completed his student teaching at Bath High School in Lima, Ohio.

DAVIS, Lois L-T Sub Title I Reading/Math Specialist West Ms. Davis received her BA from Ohio University, Lancaster in December 1995. She previously taught in the Lancaster City Schools form 1997-2000, teaching kindergarten at South Elementary School.

DEWEY, Karen Fifth Grade – Tarhe Ms. Dewey received her BA from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in March 2009. She completed her student teaching at Tarhe Elementary School.

DITOMMASO, Chris Social Studies – Lancaster High Mr. DiTommaso received his BA from The Ohio State University in June 2005 and also his MA in June 2006. Most recently he taught as an Intervention Specialist in the Hilliard City School District.

DURDEL, Chelsea Latin – Lancaster High Ms. Durdel received her BS from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio in May 2009. She completed her student teaching at Start High School, Toledo, Ohio.

EVERSOLE, Alex Math – Lancaster High Mr. Eversole received his BS from Ohio Dominican University, Columbus, Ohio in May 2009. He completed his student teaching at Pickerington North High School.

EVERSOLE, William (Jeff) Career Tech Criminal Science – Stanbery/Voc. Mr. Eversole completed Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement classes at Ohio University, Athens, Lancaster and Chillicothe, Ohio. He was a substitute teacher at Pickaway Ross Technical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio where he taught high school law enforcement. He has also been a police officer with the Circleville police department.

GALLAGHER, Robert Intervention Specialist – General Sherman Mr. Gallagher received his BA from Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio in October 2004. He did his student teaching at New Concord Elementary School and the Muskingum College Center for Child Development.

HARCHA, Katelyn Third Grade - West Ms. Harcha received her BA from Ohio University, Lancaster , Ohio in June 2009. She did her student teaching at Tallmadge Preschool.

HITES, Joseph Health Teacher - Lancaster High Mr. Hites received his BS from California State University, Sacramento, California in June 1990. He previously taught at Cheyenne Mountain High School, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Hites is the varsity boys’ basketball coach.

HITES, Karole First Grade -Tarhe Ms. Hites received her BA from California State University, Sacramento, California in 1995 and her MA from the University of Phoenix in December 2007. Most recently taught Kindergarten at Cesar Chavez Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

JARRETT, Shauna Language Arts – General Sherman Ms. Jarrett received her BA from West Virginia University, Parkersburg in December 2000. She did her student teaching at Mineral Wells Elementary School in Mineral Wells, WV. Ms. Jarrett was a substitute teacher with Lancaster City Schools.

KANIPE, Carrie 0.5 Intervention Specialist - Thomas Ewing Ms. Kanipe received her BS from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio in December 1995. She did her student teaching at Starr Elementary School, Oregon, Ohio. She previously taught at Jonathan Alder Local Schools, Plain City, Ohio.

KIRBY, Jamie Guidance Counselor - Fisher Catholic Ms. Kirby received her BA at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana in January 2003. She received her MA from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio in June 2006. Ms. Kirby did her student teaching at South High School Urban Academy, East Linden and Indianola Elementaries in Columbus, Ohio.

KOLBE, Amanda Math - Thomas Ewing Ms. Kolbe received her BA from Wittenberg University in May 2001 and her MS from Wright State University in June 2007. She did her student teaching at Clark Middle School and Rolling Hills Elementary in Springfield, Ohio. She was previously employed at Springfield City Schools.

MAXSON, Makiah Art Teacher - Thomas Ewing Ms. Maxon received her BA from The Ohio State University in June 2007. Most recently she taught Art in the Marysville Exempted Village School District.

McCURDY Kelly L-T Sub Language Arts - Lancaster High Ms. McCurdy received her BA from Ohio University in June 2009. She did her student teaching at Lancaster High School.

McDOWELL, Penny Third Grade - Medill Ms. McDowell most recently served as the elementary principal in Hillsboro. She has also has served as a literacy specialist, English, and elementary teacher during her education career.

MCKEE-BOYDEN, Elizabeth Kindergarten – South Ms. McKee-Boyden received her BA from Ohio State University in June 2007. She did her student teaching at Columbus School for Girls and also East Franklin Elementary in the Southwestern City School District .

ROGERS, Katherine Intervention Specialist - Cedar Heights Ms. Rogers received her BS from Ohio University in June 2008. She did her student teaching at Logan High School, Logan, Ohio. Last year she served as a long-term substitute teacher at West Elementary

RYAN, Michael Language Arts - Lancaster High Mr. Ryan received his BA from Ohio State University in August 2000, MA from Ohio University in August 2002, and his PhD from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in November 2007. Most recently, he taught English at Ohio University as an Adjunct Instructor.

URBINE, Mark Intervention Specialist - Lancaster High Mr. Urbine received his BS from Westchester State College, Westchester, Pennsylvania in December 1980. Mr. Urbine has been a dedicated substitute teacher for the Lancaster City School District.

WEINFURTNER, Jennifer First Grade - Cedar Heights Ms. Weinfurtner received her BS from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in November 2006. She served last year as a long-term substitute Intervention Specialist at Cedar Heights.

YOUNG, Tyler Music – Cedar Heights, Tallmadge, & West Mr. Young received his B.M.E. at Otterbein College in June 2009. He did his student teaching at Lincoln Elementary in the Gahanna School District.
