 Solicitation of parent input of at least three parents (One of parents from the PTA)  Use focus group session for input on criteria only  Curriculum supervisor selected by a senior staff member and rotated for future vacancies  Building level administrator selected by chair of committee and rotated for future vacancies 3

 Experienced teachers  One teacher HTEA Building representative  One teacher selected by committee chairperson  Child study team member selected by Director of Special Services and rotated for future vacancies  Support staff from the school or department where vacancy exists selected by committee chairperson 4

 Exclude any member based on nepotism  Exclude any member who feels he/she cannot be objective  Exclude any member who has a conflict of interest based on board policy regarding ethics and professional expectations 5

 Legal matters pertaining to hiring  Confidentiality agreement 6

 Establish criteria using job description, unique needs of school or department and Goals of the District  Weigh criteria  Establish timeline 7

 Must indicate requirements and essential criteria established by the committee  Post on Applitrack  Budget permitting, advertise in regional paper  Electronically send to all Hamilton employees. 8

 Use in-house developed screening chart  Identify between six to twelve candidates that closely match the criteria 9

 Formulate questions based on job criteria established by the committee  Interview all candidates using only the questions developed and collect data for each answer  Committee checks references of candidates selected for second round of interviews 11

 Second round interviews using different questions for learning more about the candidate’s qualifications. Continue collecting data.  Apply data collected from both interviews using interview matrix 12
