Mt. Rushmore by Andrew, Brent, Emily and Spencer

Mount Rushmore  Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a huge carving that shows the faces of 4 presidents.  Gutzon Borglum designed Mount Rushmore.  Mount Rushmore was built in South Dakota.  The heads on Mount Rushmore are of presidents Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and George Washington.

Mt. Rushmore  The heads on Mt. Rushmore are 60 feet high.  They started working on Mount Rushmore in  It took 14 years to finish Mount Rushmore

Abraham Lincoln  Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president.  He was one of our greatest presidents ever.  He was president during the Civil War.  Lincoln wanted to end slavery.  President Lincoln was shot while he was at the theater 5 days after the war ended.  Abraham Lincoln lived in a log cabin.

Theodore Roosevelt  Roosevelt was the 29th president.  He was the youngest president.  He was 42 years old.  President Roosevelt worked to make the United States a world leader.  Roosevelt also wanted to make life better for the American people.

Thomas Jefferson  Thomas Jefferson is the second President on Mt. Rushmore.  Thomas Jefferson helped the U.S.A solve many problems.  He bought a huge piece of land from France. It was called the Louisiana purchase.  He is the third President.

George Washington  George Washington was born in  George Washington was the first President of the U.S.A.  As President, Washington helped solve many of the new country’s problems.  He was the leader of the Continental army.  He helped write the Constitution.
