Lesson Outline  Brief explanation of E-Portfolio  Login & Change Password  Create a Post  Upload a piece of work  Personalise e-portfolio layout.

Your E-Portfolio  E-portfolios have been designed to allow you to share your best work with teachers, parents or carers via the web.  By storing your work electronically, you can use a variety of media to document your learning through: Microsoft Office documents Video Audio recordings or Images  Your work can then be viewed 24 hours a day by you, your parents or carers, and your teachers.

Your E-Portfolio The e-portfolio system will provide you with opportunities to: Celebrate and share your achievements with parents and teachers Reflect on your learning and other educational experiences Become a more successful learner. Parents/carers and teachers may also comment on pieces of your work

Next Steps  Click on My Stuff  Click on My Glow  Click on Modify Shared Page (Top right)  Click on Add Web Parts, then Browse

Next Steps  Click on the Virtual Server Gallery  Find Glow Settings in the list.  Drag Glow Settings on to the main body.

Change your password  Click on Change Profile in your Glow Settings.  On the Pop up window click on Edit  To change password Type in old password Type in new password (use school password space 1). Re-type new password.

Using your E-Portfolio  You are now ready to begin to use your E-Portfolio.  You will be able to: Create Posts Upload pieces of your best work Edit and personalise your page See comments left by your teachers

Creating a Post  Click on your E-Portfolio and click on Dashboard  You will be taken to a completely different screen that looks something like this.

Creating a Post  Click on posts and then add new.  From this you can create your first post. Base this on a piece of work you have completed in ICT (e.g. Theme Park Leaflet) Heading Description

Creating a Post  Choose a relevant category for your post (Technologies).  Give your post a relevant tag (ICT).

Upload a piece of work  You now need to upload the piece of work that you have written about.  Click on one of the following icons depending on what type of work it is. Image Video AudioMedia In this case choose Media

Upload a piece of work  A pop up screen will appear, you need to choose select file.  Then search for the correct file to upload from your folder.  Choose insert into post.  It will then appear in your post.

IMPORTANT POINTS!  As you are working on a post you should always remember to save it as a draft, that way you can work on it at any time.  When you have finished creating a post you can then choose to publish it.

Personalise Page  You can personalise your page by clicking on Appearance and Themes on the left hand side.  From this section you can preview a theme and then choose to activate the one that you want.
