Countdown to Examinations – RS Religious Studies - AQA (Specification B)

Examination Dates O Unit 2- Religion & Life – Thursday 15 th May (pm) O Unit 3- Religion & Morality- Tuesday 20 th May (pm)

Full & Short Course O Pupils entered for the short course will take the Unit 2 exam only. O Pupils entered for the full course will take both Unit 2 & Unit 3 exams.

Revision Sessions Revision sessions for RS are available after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays – 3:15- 4:15 with Mrs Horsfield in G6. Pupils are also invited to drop into G6 on Tuesday & Thursday lunchtimes where Mrs Horsfield will be happy to answer any questions.

Revision Materials O All pupils will be issued with comprehensive revision guides which contain full details of the topics we have covered, examples of model answers and religious teachings from Christianity, Islam & Hinduism (Unit 2) and Christianity & Islam (Unit 3)

Exam Content – Unit 2 Religion & Life The examination lasts 1 hour 30 minutes and pupils will answer four questions. Each question contains five parts and includes an extended essay question where pupils will be required to show their knowledge and understanding of religious teachings and be able to apply them to the different ethical and moral issues we have studied.

Exam Content – Unit 2 We have studied four topics in Unit 2 and pupils will be required to answer a question on each one. The topic areas are as follows:- Religion & Animal Rights Religion & Planet Earth Religion & Prejudice Religion & Early Life
