Confidential9 When will this new mini lamp be available? The new lamp will be commercially available from October 1 st, How is it possible to create 5000 lumens in such a small volume? The unique flat top and flat base design provide a maximum space inside the lamp, which is needed to get a 50W burner inside. Will Philips also provide PGJ5 mini lamps in 50W? It will not be possible to fit a 50W burner in the PGJ5 lamp, because the PGJ5 lamps are even smaller than GU6.5 lamps. Will the new lamp operate in existing 35W luminaires? That depends on temperature. We provide a separate design-in guide with a guideline to measure temperatures on the lamp. We can provide assistance for these measurements. We advice a ceramic lamp holder mounted with metal for temperature reasons (avoid plastics). Will the new lamp only operate with the new 50W mini gear? The 50W mini lamp will operate with all 50W HID Philips gear, both in mini and normal size, and with other brand EL gear with End of Life protection.
