Engineering the Future of Bright Young Minds at The Robert Napier School Arriving this September… BTEC Extended Certificate in Engineering (Equivalent to 2 GCSEs at A* - C)

Unit 1: Working Safely and Effectively in Engineering Unit 2: Interpreting and Using Engineering Information Unit 6: Preparing and Controlling Engineering Manufacturing Operations Unit 8: Selecting Engineering Materials Unit 10: Using Computer Aided Drawing Techniques in Engineering Units of Work You Will Follow:

Manufacturing Activities Essential Manufacturing Skills for Today’s Engineers (No design work in this course)

Workshop Skills Essential Guidance and Independent Use of Machinery, Tools and Equipment

PRODUCTION PLANNING ESSENTIAL PLANNING SKILLS FOR TODAY’S YOUNG ENGINEERS

Engineering Production Essential Teamwork and Leadership Skills

Engineering Futures Since I started engineering in September I have learnt so many new things to do with engineering. We have been working on our Aluminium Pen Holders which has required us to use various machines and tools such as the Pillar drill, Centre lathe, Milling machine, files and drills. When you first use the machines it is very scary which is mainly your first real fear, but once you get to grip and know what you are doing it is fun. I chose engineering for a few reasons; one of my reasons is that it will help me in my career in the Royal Navy as a Weapons Engineering Officer. The other reason I chose engineering is because I like making and constructing things, working with different materials and tools which can really help you in the future. Ryan Filtness 9H

Engineering Production Course Work Essential Manufacturing Course Work Sheets Combined with Workshop Activities

Computer Aided Drawing Essential 2D and 3D Computer Skills for Today’s Engineers
