Ekofisk Industrial Heritage Discovered in 1969, Ekofisk was the first oil and gas field on the Norwegian continental shelf. With the encouragement of the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Directorate, Ekofisk was the focus of the first pioneering project, funded by ConocoPhillips Norge.
