COMENIUS PROJECT “EUROPE THROUGH MY EYES” School in the past, at the present, in the future COMENIUS PROJECT “EUROPE THROUGH MY EYES” School in the past, at the present, in the future ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DI TAVAGNACCO Udine - Italy Year 2014 Meeting in Giannitsa – Greece- 4-8 June 2014

What a beautiful school we have! But …when was it built and how it was? Let’s plan: some of us are going to the basement or in the attic to find photos or papers ; others are asking to the grandparents, shop assistants, priest, old teachers, in order to dig in their minds memories and old experiences.

Once upon a time… Primary school has been built in 60s, has been named “ Egidio Feruglio ” a famous geologist, who was born in Feletto.

In 70s the high junior school has been built According to new educational needs, gym and sporting area has been added

The small village was growing up, following the industrial development, in 80s a lot of people moved from the near area to Feletto. So the school building has been enlarged

Let’s start!

First the basement A new building? No, it ’ s enough to join to the old one!

Near to the goal!

Here we are!!!!!

What’s the garden for? To grow up onions, zucchini, salad and peas.

Modern time

That was the life! 1913 Boys and girls don’t gather, stay apart!

Only girls

We’re luckier in small villages…boys and girls can stay together: we’re so few.

W the king, long life to the king Vittorio Emanuele!

It’s fascist Saturday: it’s time to fit!

The good girls learn to sew and embroider

This is the fashion Some pupils get black uniform, some get a white one, poor ones get what they can. Look at the teacher on the right: teachers are always poor through the times!

Better time arrives… here are the 60s. Everybody can have the uniform…and even a nicer teacher Modern times: rucksacks, trainers, sandals… but black uniform even more!

It’s 12 th September 1995.

Today … colours, smiles, comfortable dresses.

Furniture and tools Sharing the desk

Wooden desk, joined to wooden chair Hey people, look at my pen! Can you see my calculator? It’s on my right!

Everybody has got a chair and a table.

…and a white blackboard
