The Higher Education Academy formed in 2004 to take on the functions of 3 previous bodies: The Learning and Teaching Support Network (LTSN) with 24 Subject Centres promoting the development of good practices in Learning and Teaching The Institute of Learning & Teaching in Higher Education (ILTHE), The body for professional accreditation and development The National Coordination team (NCT) For teaching quality enhancement

Aims of the MH SIG Develop interdisciplinary networks and facilitate the sharing of ideas, experiences and good practice for the integration of mental health across educational programmes Provide a forum for the dissemination of information and resources relevant to the development of high quality evidence based mental health teaching and learning Support enquiry and innovation that aims to promote mental health learning and teaching across the range of multi disciplinary settings.
