Presentation transcript:

 Project began in the fall of 2002 as a result of a long range planning session.  It is part of the RVDA’s long range goals.  A proactive program rather than a reactive one.  The Program was divided into three Categories.  1.It is designed to address our pressing need for people of all ages to look at our industry as a viable career opportunity and not a part time job.  2.It is designed to help the RVDA of Canada and its members become leaders within our industry in career education and recruitment.  3.And most importantly, it is designed to get more people to become aware and interested in the RV industry.

We created a three part program for recruitment:  1. To attract high school students, re: Career Pathways Program.  2.To attract young people out of College, University and Trade Schools; students approximately 18 to 30 years of age.  3. To attract an older generation who are looking for a career or lifestyle change, approximately 30 years and older.

To create an education and training program aimed at:  1.High school students  2.Post secondary and college students  3.Career transition and retired individuals We have created a CD, which contains a brochure, poster, a PowerPoint presentation and videos that addresses:  1. Career opportunities  2. Types of jobs  3. Promotion of the RV dealership and industry  4. The lifestyle of the industry

 RV Careers Reference Guide for Career Practitioners  RV Careers Youth Pamphlet  Guide to Apprenticeship  Career Matrix  RV Careers videos  Continuous Learning Guide  Customizable RV Careers poster and brochure

Consider the RV Industry – A viable career opportunity with great growth and lifestyle potential. DEALER LOGO

 Establishing partnerships with career practitioners at local high schools.  We told them about our industry and the needs of our dealers.  It was a huge success!!!  These are some photographs of the tours.

RVDA Industry Tour Taking The Right Road Taking The Right Road Where Lifestyles & Careers Meet Where Lifestyles & Careers Meet

 The future of this program depends on you, the parents, teachers and counsellors.  We need your help and support!  The brochure and poster can be promptly displayed in your office and in your school.  Educate your children and students about career opportunities in the trades.  Demystify working in the trades as second-class careers  Work with your local youth apprenticeship Program Coordinator and your local dealership on recruiting more young apprentices.

The future of RV dealership recruitment is in your hands! Thank you
