What we do… The school budget is not enough. Langtree PTA helps by: Buying seat-sacks to provide needed storage Buying homework planners Paying for bus transportation for field trips Booking educational assemblies Hosting Grandparents day Buying and upgrading technology Sponsoring Kindergarten Registration Organizing fun social events Providing funds to teachers for supplies Celebrating and rewarding students & MORE! How we get it done… PTA Membership, the best $6 you ever spent! National PTA at work: Recruiting outstanding leadership Legislative meetings with the US Department of Education Making recommendations to Congress Being the nations largest child advocacy group Being a resource for parents and teachers so that they may take informed action for a better education system Ortha Thornton, president of National PTA. A retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel and his last two assignments were with the White House Communications Agency and United States Forces-Iraq in Baghdad. Thornton earned the Bronze Star Medal for exceptional performance in combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom
