PROJECT Local community

The project history  After 10 years operating a school in a tin shed, Stephen got one computer, and with that got donations for materials and the locals built a primary school  Angela arrived in 2010 as a volunteer with computers and an electronic library, decided to start a charity, Kenyan Kinship to help their aspirations, starting with a secondary school

The Secondary School ! Stephen is the School Headmaster. The plot of land is secured. $45,000 raised in 2011 including $15000 by volunteers. School opened for years 1 and 2 Jan 2012

The project numbers  Total Funds through Rotary $96,320  Eltham Rotary contributions $1820  Corporate volunteer donations $40, people across 4 trips, Rotarians on each  Kenyan Kinship Fundraising $44,000  Donations by charitable trusts $12,000  Assistance to other Rotary projects - HUG Uganda – Kyabram - Kids in Kenya Childrens Library – Sydney Cove - Mbale area, Uganda – Eltham - Joylands

Conclusion : Rotary and RAWCS leverage our impact when we work with small charities and corporate giving and volunteering – and it’s fun!
