Personal History Date of birth - 25 th March 1347 (Siena Italy) Date of death 29 April 1380 (in Rome) Parents – Dad’s name was Giacomo and Mum’s name was Lapa She was a twin but her twin sister died She had twenty five brothers and sisters

Spiritual journey Catherine had her first vision of Christ when she was 5 years old- He smiled and blessed her When she was 7 she vowed chastity At age 16 Catherine’s parents wanted her to marry but she declined as she wanted to be a nun, her wish came true. Catherine came from a wealthy family but lived as a poor person and gave all her food and clothing to the poor and visited the sick at homes and in hospitals She prayed and fasted all the time Experienced Stigmata

Catherine of Siena The nun Was charitable and kind Was a peace maker Prayed and fasted For Mankind
