Introduction If you have a toy would you share it with your friends? If you have a game would you ask for another? Do you know what is the meaning of being content?
Let’s Meet Aulogius Hundreds of years ago, there was a stone cutter named Aulogius Aulogius would cut large pieces of stone into smaller parts so they can be used to build.
Let’s Meet Aulogius He was a very poor man who worked long hours just to meet his necessities. He made one denarii a day (About $2/day) Although he was poor, He loved the poor and the strangers and he used to take them in, wash their feet, and give them from what he has.
A Life Changing visit One day, Saint Daniel the hegumen (priest) visited Aulogius. Aulogius took him in, washed his feet, gave him food, and let him stay over at his house.
A Life Changing visit Saint Daniel was very pleased with Aulogius and he prayed to the Lord for three weeks so that God would give Aulogius a lot of money. The Lord answered St. Daniel’s prayers and Aulogius found a treasure as he was cutting stones.
Rich Aulogius Aulogius moved to Constantinople (Istanbul). He became friends with only rich people. He lived only for himself and stopped giving the poor.
Rich Aulogius When St. Daniel heard of this, he became sorry for what he asked of God and prayed that Aulogius would return to his love for the poor.
Aulogius Loses His Wealth Aulogius was robbed and lost all his money and belongings. When he became poor again, he realized the importance of being close to God and giving to His brethren.
Life With Christ As children of God, we need to thank him for ALL we have. We should share what we have with our friends, relatives, or even people we do not know.
Life With Christ Let’s be content with what we have and not ask more, but rather ask God to help us to grow with him. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Mt 6:33
