House Swimming Carnival 2013

 Friday 15 th Feb ◦ Day begins with Homeroom as usual. ◦ After Homeroom move to Buses. ◦ Arrive at Chandler by 10am ◦ Leave Chandler by 2pm ◦ Arrive back at school for dismissal at 3:00pm as usual.

 FULL SPORTS UNIFORM to be worn to and from school as well as to and from the venue.  Students can get changed into house colours once when you arrive at the pool.  Girls – No bikinis. 1 piece swimming togs or a shirt over the top of your bikini.

 All races to run 13 Girls – 17 Boys ◦ 50m Butterfly ◦ 50m Backstroke ◦ 50m Breaststroke ◦ 50m Freestyle ◦ 4 x 50m Freestyle Relays

 Students need to swim in age group not year level.  No nominations – Listen to announcements for when your age group/race is called and go directly to the marshall room underneath the grandstand.  Age Champions – If you wish to race for age champion you need to be in the first race of each stroke for your age group.

 Touch Pads will be used for timing. Touch the pads at the end of the pool firmly, once, then don’t touch them again.  Please no coloured hairspray, zinc or paint on bodies at the carnival.  As you can appreciate Chandler is a great facility and they have strict rules to keep their water nice and clean.

 A small canteen will be available from 11am to 1pm out the back of the grandstand.  It is highly recommended you pack your own food and drink as the canteen food is quite expensive and the quality is poor.  The cafe on pool deck is NOT open to students.

 Please work with your house leaders when entering relay teams.  Be prepared for a cheer off at the completion of the relays to claim the prestigious rubber duck trophy and the house spirit award!  If you have any questions or concerns throughout the carnival refer to your house leaders to help you out!

 Top 2 Butterfly  Top 3 Breaststroke  Top 3 Backstroke  Top 5 Freestyle  In each age group/gender  SECA Squad to be placed on noticeboard Monday after the carnival.
