Page 2 Agenda Why I chose the number 23 Mathematical facts 23’s Multiples Fun facts What I learned about 23 while playing the factor and product game What I learned about 23 Some extra things you should know Questions & answers My Special Number

Page 3 Why I chose the number 23 I chose this number because it is my favorite number and lucky number. I also chose it because I was born on the 23 rd of May in I further think that 23 is special because William Shakespeare was born on the 23 rd of April, who also died on the 23 rd of April. I admire him because of his poetry. My Special Number

Page 4 Fun Facts and more!!! There are 23 letters in the Latin alphabet. The European Union has 23 official languages. 23 degrees Celsius is room temperature on Earth. Michael Jordan from the Chicago Bulls (basketball team) wore 23 on the back of his shirt while he played a professional basketball game. 23 is also the day of his father’s murder. Manchester City F.C. hasn’t assigned 23 to a player since 2003 because Marc-Vivien Foe died while playing for Cameroon. 23 is a 2007 film starring Jim Carrey. (One of my favorite actors) My Special Number

Page 5 What I learned about 23 I learned that 23 is very interesting because ……….. 23 is the ninth prime number. (In order from smallest to greatest) It takes 23 seconds for blood to circulate through the human body. The number of joints in the human arm is 23. My Special Number

Page 6 Mathematical Facts!!!! My number is a prime number because it only has 2 factors 1 and itself (23). 23 is the 9 th prime number and the smallest prime that is not a twin prime. 23 is the first prime number in which both digits are prime numbers and add up to another prime number. Eg: = 5 My birth date 23 May May is the 5 th month = = May 1996 = The alphabetic numerical value of my name, Hannah is or 23 and 23. I was born in May and May is the 5 th month in order. I was born on May 23 rd and = 5. My Special Number

Page 8 What I learned about 23 while playing the factor and product game I learned that 23 isn’t on the product game board because it is a prime number and none of the factors at the bottom could multiply up to 23. I learned that 23 is a good number to start with in the factor game because you would get 23 points while your opponent gets 1. My Special Number

Page 9 Some extra things you should know 23 is an odd number And ……… My number, 23, has 1 factor pair which is 1 and 23 because 23 is a prime number. My number is an abundant number because when you add 23s proper factors together you get 1 because 23 is a prime number. My Special Number

Page 10 Vocabulary Words Twin Prime: A twin prime means that when you don’t have only one number in between two primes but more than one. Alphabetic numerical value: Means when you write down the alphabet and underneath write 1,2,3.. And so on then you will see a number under the letters in your name. Then you add up all the numbers and that is your alphabetic numerical value. Abundant: When a numbers proper factors add up to be less than the number itself. My Special Number
