Technology Project By: Jasmine Jones, Shana Small, Monifa Arthur, & Derricia Bynoe

What is Technology?? Technology can best be described as a concept that deals with the knowledge of tools and crafts and the way it affects the world. In human society, it’s a consequence of science and engineering. Technology is something that is constantly used in everyday life

Humans Vs. Technology Technology is the process by which humans modify nature to meet their needs and wants. Everyone knows technology as the use of computers, different software’s, microwaves, ovens, and many more. Technology is the process by which humans modify nature to meet their needs and wants. Everyone knows technology as the use of computers, different software’s, microwaves, ovens, and many more.

We humans use technology daily and I don’t think it would possible to go without it. From cells phones, to TV’s, I believe it would be nearly possible to go without it. The Use Of Technology

Technology That Arose When steam power came about it was used in many different technologies. It bought upon faster boats, helped to power new machines, and was mainly used in engines for machines that were in factories. This period where steam power was mostly used is known as the Industrial Revolution, which began in Britain and wet throughout England. The machines increased the production of clothes, food, material, and others. Steam power also contributed to the railroads during this period. Railroads were updated and also increased transportation. Steam power changed the view of how technology was used. From then on these inventions became very popular. The Americas Vs. Steamboats The western river steamboat contained the technology that transformed the Trans- Appalachian West from a wilderness to an economically significant region of the country. The high pressure engine was universally adopted for use on western steamboats because of its power, lightweight, low coast, and ease of repair The high pressure engine was universally adopted for use on western steamboats because of its power, lightweight, low coast, and ease of repair

Risks of Steamboats The steamboat was a great invention, but it had problems too. Steamboats could travel in waterways that were not very deep. The downfall of this is when they got into shallow of water, they would plug the water intake with mud from the river bottom. The steamboat was a great invention, but it had problems too. This would cause the boiler to run low or out of water and cause the boulder to explode. This would be a bad thing if you were on the ship or boat. This would cause the boiler to run low or out of water and cause the boulder to explode. This would be a bad thing if you were on the ship or boat.

Roman Aqueducts As Roman towns grew it became harder for people who lived in towns to get drinking water as well as washing water. The raw sewage was draining into the rivers people became to get sick and died. Governments decided to build these things called aqueducts first in the city of rome and then it spread to other areas near by such as hills and towns. Roman engineers built the aqueducts all over the roman empire from syria to england. The water in the aqueducts ran through the channels in the bridge. All roman towns pretty much had clean water to drink from these aqueducts. As Roman towns grew it became harder for people who lived in towns to get drinking water as well as washing water. In the villages where there were no aqueducts everybody drunk dirty water from the nearest river so the aqueducts came in very b it was a great invention to society. They continued to use the aqueducts untill the 400’s A.D. when the Roman empire fell.

The Aqueducts have diversed to many places such as Canada, England, Italy, Czech republic and portugal.

What Technology does for us Technology is a plus to my life, technology basically is my life. Without things like my computer, my cell phone, T.V, and ipod I would be incomplete. I don’t just use technology for my personal use. I use my computer for research and to do homework as well as my personal use. If I didn’t have my cell phone it wouldn’t be possible to contact the people I love if they are far away. Technology is a plus to my life, technology basically is my life. Without my ipod or portable music players of any sort the morning train rides would be so boring and ever since I lost my ipod they are. Television doesn’t really doesn’t bother me but when I’m in the mood I love movies and shows that makes me laugh. As you can see my life resolves around technology whether its for a purpose or my personal use!
