St. Patrick Patrick was born in England and made a slave at 16 of age. He was brought to Ireland to work as a shepherd. He always thought of how he could escape. Eventually he was able to get on a boat going to France. In France he met a bishop and learned about Christianity. St. Patrick There are many legends about Patrick. One tells that he sent all the snakes out of Ireland. Another is that he taught about the Trinity using a shamrock.
